Volunteering violin skills...for the pit orchestra.
Yes, the obvious thing to do the first week-we took turns introducing ourselves to the other members.
we were asked to state our name, school, and a fun fact about ourselves.

Me? The really-bad-at-public-speaking, timid, (could-i-go-as-far-as-to-say-socially-awkward? )
i failed. epically. BEYOND EPICALLY failed.
it's sad, and very true.

and yes, that is what i said. almost exactly.
and that is really what went through my head prior to humiliating myself.
(nobody laughed at me...but the looks on their faces made them look like they pitied me. the poor, tongue-tied, red-faced, blubbering fool.)
